Small Terrain Board Pics
« on: October 06, 2007, 04:23:33 PM »
When I run a convention for .45 Adventure or Gloire people are always skeptical of the small 2’ x 2’ board, but I believe it was Pete Murray who said that small board gaming was much like bonsai trees. Small, simple, and to the point.  Cut away all the useless baggage that doesn’t bring much to the party and leave only the exciting parts that people spend all that time “maneuvering” around the board to get to.   Have piece of terrain that you spent hours making and want to make it the focus point in a game, but feel that by plopping it on a 8’ x 4’ table it gets a little lost in the shuffle?  On the smaller board your proud display piece will get all the ooh’s and ahh’s it deserves.  Why am I going through all this?  Simple really, I am running a .45 Adventure cowboy zombie (or is that zombie cowboy?) game at Fall-In and I had to make a small desert board.  After making it, I thought it would neat to show all the possible configurations, and transformation, one little board can go through.  To that effect…

Thanks all.  The Egyptian bits are aquarium pieces from Petco in the states.

WOW! what an amazing collection of scenery.  Loved the egyptian stuff and the rock formations.
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Thanks all.  Yes, they are Arnica, with a little bit of Ertl and Old Glory mixed in.
