Currently I can't open the link, by the look of your comments guys, perhaps I should be grateful. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the Hollywood brat-packy version that came out some years back - just from the dreadful looking wardrobe - trousers tucked into boots (instead of proper breeches) and shirtsleeves under tabards - do me a favour.  :(

The 70s ones (with Olly Reed, Frank Finlay, Richard Chamberlain, Charlton Heston, Michael York etc) are still the best by far.   :D ;)

I'm with Jimbo - looks like fun, even if seriously lacking in Zombies...

Let's face it even movies trying to stay close to the original story don't work well. I suspect the Three Musketeers link was simply included to persuade someone that they would get an minimal audience.  With this sort of movie I prefer to pretend it's nothing to do with the original and that the names are purely coincidental and just see whether the rest is up to much.

Well, its entertainment, and I suppose that it has its value. I love the books, and I also think that some of the older movies are nice. I would have loved a new version, dark and full of angst, with dirty surroundings and some great actors to go with it, however, this can be fun as well, a bit like Wild Wild West.

Story-raping aside I'm just plain tired of 90-minute action sequence/music videos with no plot masquerading as movies.

Will Baillie, thanks for posting those video traillers for the old 1970s versions of the Three Musketeers and the Four Musketeers.  Scripts by George MacDonald Fraser of Flashman fame, great acting, and Raquel Welsh!  :-*

I've seen most versions and the 70's one is good. The old Gene Kelly version is not bad either.

Though for me, the one that I will always have fond memories of is the 1953 French one that had Bourvil in the role of Planchet.
Oddly, I can only find video's from it in Russian.  ???

I like the Micheal York Version the best.  Charlton Heston plays a great Richealieu and Christopher Lee the best Rochfort I've seen on the screen.  I don't think the new 2011 version will come close.

It looks brilliantly silly,I'll go and see it.

In the end,the book is much better than any of the above. If I want a swashbuckling film,I much prefer Le Bossu

 which see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Bossu_(1997_film)
