Well, the master is in pieces but it will come pre-assembled.

Perhaps after launch they will consider selling the unassembled kits.

"Pre-assembled & lightly painted" is the usual excuse for high pricing...

True enough.

This is going to be a complete game in a box.  So you will have rules, miniatures, cards and map included.  I think it is aimed at a mass market, and thus not particularly suited to the needs or desires of gamers who love to fiddle about with minis and have vast choices of different packs.

The price?  Who knows?

Nevertheless, I like the concept and will buy the game.  Even knowing that there is a distinct possibility, that if it doesn't get enough interest, it might be their first and only release.

I marginally qualify as a retailer, not a producer, but my impression is these things tend to get made up in a run, boxed and ready to sell on site. True, you'd have masters and moulds left, but unless the game did very well, any further production would be unlikely for the small quantities for thee and me.

True, assuming this will be available via distributors, I shall not be able to resist.

Now, has anyone actually played this? The rules have been available forever at none-to-dear for download. I've yet to see a review. If you know of one, please do post a link.

Edit-before-post: Dopey moi, first place I should have looked was BGG. Next, I'll try a search of LAF.

I do like these. The French ship is especially nice as it echoes the French 'tumblehome' ship designs of the late 19th century.

I do hope the ships are released separately from the game.

I nearly purchased some Dystopian stuff today but these are much more like what I have in mind. If they are made available I will go with these and if not I shall cry :'(

Me too! I'd like to use them to play the new GASLIGHT airship rules.

I'm guessing that the rules won't add THAT much to the cost of the box, so I'll probably pick them up for the same excuse.

Mind you, while I've been resisting play Dystopian, I might consider proxying these in as well. When my partners *aren't* looking, of course. ;->=

Appears they have the minis ready and are doing a last quality control check on the sprue's.

Here is a pic of the sprue's:

Almost all comments on the blog are begging for sale of the sprue's themselves.  :)

These fulfil my idea of what an aeronef should look like!

The "pre-dreadnaughts on stands"  style are okay but I have always felt looked a bit contrived. I have always thought there should be more substance to the hulls. More space for all the gubbins needed to make an armoured flying battleship fly. These are the business.

Trouble with all that sticky out stuff to make it fly is that first high explosive shell that comes along and the whole thing becomes a hole in the ground  :D

Real world warships keep as much of their vitals hidden as possible for very good reasons.

I have to admit that they look cool but at 65 USD (pre-order discount price) + shipping to UK and import taxes they are a bit expensive  :(

Has anyone any idea what's in the fleet boxes please?
