I have just finished basing my 28mm Dixon figures for my Dahomey 1892 project and I thought I would share a couple of photos of them:

Cool. I ordered some French Marines to when I ordered my amazons...



Took a few liberties with the colours though.

I didn't get any of the Marines in my first batch but am wondering whether to grow the project.  The original concept was to use the FFL to play various skirmishes around the main column - scouting, patrols, protecting supplies and the like to keep the "investment" to more manageable levels.

That's what I do to but primarily for the reason that I enjoy skirmish games more than unit games. Have you seen Victoria Lambs glorious French Marine officer?

Dixon FFL can be painted as French Marines, there were not many differences except the coulours.

Hammers: I am primarily a skirmish player but I do enjoy bigger actions too.  I have seen that Marine officer figure, and it is nice, but a little limited by the integral base!

Patrice: the FFL and Marine uniforms are similar but Dixon have sculpted their Marines with Gaiters and the FFL with the trousers tied at the ankles.
