They're the old Dixon Dahomey range, sculpted a long time ago by Mike Owen in his pre-Artizan days :

How big are they compared to other ranges? i've Dixon is closer to 25mm than 28, and i'd love a small force for darkest africa.

they also scale well with Askaris Miniatures
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Very nice picts ..including huts/landscape..
i also own, from years, many of those unpainted Dixon Légionaires and Marsouins..
In fact i would like to paint them in Blue..(as you did) and in all white uniform...and made them available also for Tonkin eventual scenarios..may i ask you your opinion on uniform depiction:
the rank and file, with those blankets over body and tunic instaed of shirts, could they also be painted, in your opinion, in white?
and..is there a real difference , talking about the design of those minis, between Légionaires and Marsouins?

The Legionnaries wore exactly the same gear in Tonkin (only in the warm season).
For the minis, the french uniform was similar for all the colonial troops, but changed in color (and not always, as Legionnaries were the Marsouins suit in Madagascar...

In your photos, there is a low plant (tree) with wide brown trunk that has King Palm palms on it. Very nice, but where did you find one of those with that fat trunk (wider in the middle)?
