The hairy barbarians are from Black tree Design:
"DA1061 Viking Berserkers With Bearskins and Axes II (4)" and "DA1005 Viking Beserkers with Bearskins and Axes (4)"

Allthough Blacktree doens't have quite a flawless reputation, I never had any problems with them and am quite satisfied with the miniatures. In the era that there were no plastic dark ages miniatures, they made collecting an army from said period quite affordable.

The first set of berserkers can almost also work as a set of cavemen :)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

yeah I see what you mean. They could work for an early iron age/stone henge type setting too.

Re BTD, I think they a great value for money, so long as you are not in a hurry. I use them for my VBCW army a lot, as they have a nice range of partizans, at less that 50% the cost of Musketeer and Artizan (although in trueth, both Artizan and Musketeer are better sculpted, and tend to arive on time)

Yes, I must say those BTD hairies are rather good... The sculpting style looks familar, but I can't quite place it. They're well made though - and well painted of course  8)

I fear Janner's entry may be suffering from being just a little too close in... Even the maestros balk at showing their paintwork in too forensic detail... Brave man Steve  ;)

I actually really enjoyed Janners entry All of his previous entries were shots of entire regiments shot from a distance that did not really show off the paint-jobs. Now that we get a close-up I see that the brush-work on these models is better than expected, I especially like the shields.

That said, I do think Braxandur has the edge in his neat paint-jobs and his set-up shows a little bit more context as well, but it was a tough decision!
Let me hear the battle cry

Let me see the banners fly
