Aaargh! Curse of the Golden Flower!  :x  I've got to warn you- its schockingly bad. A great example of a lush, money coloured film with no soul. Also some fairly disturbing ethics on display.

Actually Michael Caine plays a German soldier too (FJ officer if I'm not mistaken, though I haven't had a chance to watch it yet and it's been a while since I last saw it).

As for Curse of the Golde FLower being bad, that's a pity, but I guess I'll just watch it for the pretty pictures then. :)

I knew I was forgetting one:

Thus completing the trilogy.

The Eagle has Landed is a great film, and the final battle would make a fun game. I reckon Matakishi should do it with his WWII stuff. As a bonus you get to see J.R. shot. There wasn't such a "Who Shot J.R.?" hoo-hah that time, though. Probably because you see who shoots him.

Anyway, I'm going to join in, with more of my birthday presents:

Plus one that I bought myself, that is nothing to do with gaming, but I love it nonetheless:

The Hidden Fortress is, with the Seven Samurai, one of my two favorite Kurosawa movies. I've also got Kagemusha, but never quite enjoyed his later colour movies.
