La Horde. A french zombie movie.

A good movie apart from an annoying actress!  The female cop. >:(

I didn't mind her, the old legionnaire stole the show though :)

I have recently received:
Danger man the colour years, Professionals season 1, Rockford files season 1, The Saint season 1 and the complete Strange Report box set. None of which are films of course...

Just saw the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movies and it was quite good.  The story line is fun, the pirates are full of life, Captain Jack is Captain Jack and Penelope Cruz is hot, and it’s got mermaids.  The movie is much more like the first and best of the series.  It has lots of ideas for campaigns and has a solid adventure feel as well.

Just saw Tracker. A Boer veteran and tracker (Ray Winstone) emigrates to New Zealand in 1903 after losing everything in the Boer War. There he comes to join a man hunt to find a Maori (Temuera Morrison aka Jango Fett) accused of murder.

It was a nice film. Certainly not a masterpiece, but cool in an old-school kind of way. Besides Ray Winstone doing his best South African accent was quite fun. :D

True Grit. What a superb movie!

But I missed the typical Coen:ish dialogue.

"The War that made America" - 4 part mini series documentary of the French & Indian Wars. Great complement to "The Last of the Mohicans" movie. Made me place an order for Perry AWI Indians...

It is good, isn't it? I'm about due for another viewing myself. Maybe it will inspire me to finish my blockhouse and base up a few more trees.

I think it was quite good. A thorough overview of the war AND disclosing George Washington as a real sissy  :D

I'm not sure about sissy, but I do picture him more like Mr. Bean than national saviour. I'm one of the last card-carrying loyalists in the states though.  :D

For me, lets see:

RoboCop (Fueling my love of Cyborgs and Power Armor)

Tremors (Giant Monsters. Check. MOSTLY good characters. Check.)

A Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (Just because. Its actually very true to the book which I liked)

On a totally different train of thought does any one know of any good Post Apoc Movies aside from MAD MAX and its sequels.

Nanking

It is about the 1938 massacre of Chinese civilians and soldiers and mass rape of women by the Japanese as the capital of the Chinese republic was sacked. I had only read about this briefly in a Time Life book but never fully understood the magnitude and modern day implications of this horrible event. Sometimes one feels just too Euro-centric than what is good for oneself...
