Got the DVD of Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows for Christmas, which means I can go through and mine it for VSF plot elements. Hurrah!

The Living Daylights of the one and only James Bond film series. I haven't watched it yet, but when I have, I will have watched all of the 007-films and my life will be complete.

Recently i bought Bridge over the river Kwai and Lawrence of Arabia. The first i have a number of times and has been an inspiration to say the least. The second is to long ago to remember specifics but the book (The seven pillars of wisdom) was an intrigueing read. Still have to watch that one.

It's my birthday today, and among other gaming-related goodies my kids gave me the DVD of John Carter. I know it's supposed to be a turkey, but hey, I like Flash Gordon, so sue me. I expect 2 hours of enjoyable Victorio-pulp daftness. Or at the very least, I hope it looks nice.

Actually, I don't think it is that bad a movie. I almost never like the big, overblown modern CGI-action fests. I hate them normally. But I didn't hate this. It was quite entertaining.


I think it is more that they fucked up the marketing than actually made a terrible movie.

Been watching John Carter for the past month or so on Starz. Much better than what i was expecting after seeing all the bad mouthing that was done to it.
Just got Dredd a couple of days ago since it came out on DVD. Watched it last night. Damn bloody movie indeed. The GF was a bit squeamish in it and didn't finish watching it with me. Though i think Urban must have hurt his face muscle trying to keep that angry look through the whole movie i liked it a lot as well. Another good movie i thought was better than what the critics panned it to be. Was surprised though how soon it came out on DVD release. Pleasantly surprised.
Both good choices and finds. :-)

 Borrowed John Carter from my brother and watched it twice in one day.Great film indeed.You will love it Mark.

 My wife got Dredd and we watched it last night.Another good movie.Love how they did it and the gore was well done too.Over the top just like it should be.

 Another good movie I watched recently was Lone Ninja.Lots of leaping around like Crouching Tiget hidden dragon if you like that take on the oriental theme.The ending was left open for a sequel.It is a Manga live action movie.Been way too long since I watched my manga movies.
