Highland MG team from Renegade Miniatures:

Lovely model - easy to assemble and paint up.

Very nice - I'd like to see some more views if possible. What do you use for the base materials?

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier... I've been... busy...

Here are a few more angles:

The base is a great big metal washer from my local hardware store. The earth-like basing is what I call "Base Goop" - it's a mixture of carpenter's white glue (though I've also used acrylic gel in teh past), brown paint, sand and model railroad ballast. I then drybrush some lighter earth tone, then a lighter drybrush with a light tan. On top of all that I put on little bits of static grass and "clump foliage" and the occasional wee pebble - which looks like a great big field stone!

Hope that helps...?

Very nice.  I notice you decided to paint the tartan on.  I took the smooth backside to mean that the figures were in the kilt aprons, and can't decide which way to go with mine.

Fantastic. I don't envy the gunner - having to kneel on that gravel without trousers on!  lol
I told you so. You damned fools.

And being a true scot no underpants - hope there's no thistles about :o

Thanks for the pictures Tim - I like the Scots in Balmoral bonnets and the tartan looks great. Thanks for the tips re the basing too. Did you see Aircav's HMGs? They had interesting bases too.
