most of us are based in hainaut.
ok let's post some pics

late 19th century, somewhere on the congo

a small fort protecting a trading post remains beyond the free state grasp, like a thorn in his side.
it is said to shelter the first tin canned moambe factory, diverting precious manpower from the hevea plantation.
of course this cannot be tolerated and the belgian hold on the congo is at risk
thus a flotilla was sent to set things up

the Alexandre Delcommune : an unarmed paddle steamer loaded with troops
the Mimi : a launche hastily armed with a nordenfeldt
the Stalle and the Ville de Wavre will provide fire support and to carry a supplement of troops
on the opposite side, the only visibles forces were compsed of native pirogues and two allied arab dhows

the Ville de Wavre aggresivly manoeuvered and soon began to shell the dhows, disabling their gun while the Alexandre Delcommune began his approach to land his troops

on the right channel the two others ships dealt with the pirogues but Mimi foolishly went to far to be effectively supported

eventually being surrounded and captured

on the fort a battery then opened fore on the Ville de Wavre, causing some damage and starint a fire on board

fortunately her gunners soon destroyed the threat
suddenly another (but not the last) bad surprise came to the belgian
a mercenary torpedo boat appeared at the horizon

only to be sunk immediately by the expert gunners of the ville de Wavre
The Stalle now on his own disposed of the remaining pirogues

the rebels then threw their last forces into the fight, trying to sneak a mine around the Alexandre as it appraoched the docks (of course this was doomed to fail as the mine didn't explode)

a renegade steamer came to late to relieve the fort

and the crews of the dhows, landed to reinforce the encampment were unable to stop the troops now rushing from the Alexandre'se bows.

on the second day we had a short second game, here a few pics (the force publique was slaughtered)

I hope this was worth your patience ;-)
