Kids' first paintjobs
« on: May 21, 2011, 12:47:15 AM »
My kids painted their first miniatures a few months back, and I finally uploaded the pics.  Only Oohs and Ahs please.    ;)

This is the boy-child's (if that wasn't apparent from the subject matter); Sebastian, age 9:

And this is Natalie's, age 6:

Not bad, huh?  Who knows, they may be doing the studio jobs for Hinterland in the near future; especially with Dad's eyesight fading.

Great paintjobs! I tried to get my kids painting but I didn't have a chance competing with the Playstation  :'(

Very nice :-*, keep them painting.

Here's the first one of my son, at the age of 10:

It's good to see our children having interest in that hobby ;)

Lovely work.  Sebastian did an excellent job of staying in the lines.  Very good for his age.  The mermaid is of course lovely, and an appropriate subject for a little princess.

We should have a sticky thread for our kids' paintjobs.
This is my boomstick!

Me too, just ended up giving myself more work lol

Both good jobs, the girl child is a natural colourist.  8)

Better than my first attempt, for sure! I think white primer shows errors up a lot more to boot, so these are pretty darned good!

My son (aged three) had a blast painting a craft store wooden dinosaur and house for said dino to smash last weekend. I was most impressed by the fact that 1)he made far less mess than I did and 2) he was completely focused on painting them the entire time! Normally his attention wanders after five minutes or so. He's already told me that he wants to paint "the metal guys" when he's bigger so I'm crossing my fingers that I have a replacement painter lined up for when my eyesight goes too!

Smashing, I especially like the mermaid, but the tank is great too. And it's good to know that there are some children somewhere that aren't just glued to a TV or x-box. Long may it continue!

Thanks for all the positive feedback.  I'll be sure to show it to the kids, who LOVED seeing their minis on the internet.
