Burgundian house (finished 01/07/11)
« on: May 29, 2011, 08:20:10 PM »
After long time lurking I though it was about time I got round to posting. Looking for some terrain items to go with my Perry Burgundians I thought I'd have a go at creating a building based on one I'd seen in Burgundy. The build is finished and ready for undercoating, construction is foamcore, balsa, pink foam and polystyrene pizza bases. If anyone is interested I will add some more pictures once I start slapping the paint on. Thanks for looking.

Thanks so much for the comments guys, much appreciated.

The roof tiles are made from very thin strips of balsa laid along the horizontal of roof with the detail carved on after. I've found it be less time consuming than laying individual tiles.

The pictures below are of the initial construction of the prototype (yes this one is the second attempt!), showing how I got the curve thanks to a wine cork, as well as the inspiration for the build.
