Hasslefree minis are great both for using ‘as is’ and for converting and, having been challenged to create a Blood Bowl team, I decided to build it around a couple of their Fantasy Football minis but using a ‘cheerleader’ theme.
Much, much more work to do but here’s some very early WIP shots to show what I’m aiming for.
First up is a blocker using HFF008 Madison. Not much in the way of change, just some squaring off of the helmet cheek shields to match the rest of the team.
Next is a catcher HFF004 Danni, minor changes to the thong to turn it into shorts plus I’ve started to reshape the helmet as it was more bulbous than Madison’s.
A line(wo)man from HFH022 Concubine…. Needs tidying up plus adding the knee and elbow pads and socks; the helmet is a conversion of the ones I made and cast for my Colonial Marines project.
Another line(wo)man using HFH029 Beach Babe Libby, changes much as for Concubine; the right arm had to be repositioned so that the hand would rest on the top of the helmet.
And a another line(wo)man, this time HFA035 Morgan who was wearing a dress and carrying a pistol but is now in shorts and vest and clapping her hands.
The final line(wo)man from HFF007 Summer, who was actually a cheerleader but is in the process of having her pompoms replaced with open palms; the helmet is another Colonial Marine adaptation.
A thrower that I’m in the throes of sculpting. Looks really weird with just a face rather than a whole head but there’s a helmet to add. Much tidying up to do, this really is early stage as can be seen from the shape of the football!!!
The team will have a ‘spongeman’ using HFN004 Wolsey, who’ll have a medic’s bag.
The full team will comprise an ogre (not a fantasy ‘ogre’ but a dominant human player) to be converted from HFH042 Dominatrix Libby plus another Line(wo)man from the HFH036 Artemis figure. I will also need to sculpt two more blockers in the same style as Morgan to complete the team.
Hope you like where it’s going but obviously there’s a lot more to do.
Comments most welcome.
