Very tempted, but anyone who sees it that hasn't read that far might start asking questions ;)

Turn off your flash (if it's a flash that creates the shadow) and have several 'soft' light sources instead - will work wonders for photo results.

Looking good, anyway.

Nice work. Looks a suitably grizzled survivor. Really like the newspaper on the base.

This is the first time I see a spoiler alert with a miniature!
Very nice indeed.
A little boy with a hard look will be the next, maybe?!...

Just finishing him up actually :D

On the subject of the newspaper, I don't think I'll be doing that again for a while, I nearly threw myself out of the window at the fiddlyness of the bugger!

And Argonor, cheers for the photo advice, I'm taking these pictures on my wife's phone,  so that might explain the pain in the bum with the photography! If the light isn't on on the phone, nothing shows up in the pic... I've tried using daylight, incandescent light, a lightbox... I think I'd just better stop buying little metal men for a while and get a decent camera instead! ::)

Anyway, to all of you, thanks for the comments and support!!

I'm taking these pictures on my wife's phone,

Very high quality mini photo for a phone.  :o

But, yes, a digi-cam is a must. You don't need an extremely high resolution, but a tripod and the 'macro'-setting (often marked by a little black tulip) are the photographer's best friends for this.

There ar entire threads on this subject by some of the really skilled individuals under 'Workbench' if you want better advice than I can give  :)

True, don't be blinded by the megapixels. better a camera with a good lens and optical zoom then one with loads of pixels but a crappy lens or a high digital zoom which is equally crappy.
