Thanks Guys,

The Black Scorpion armed vicar was the only figure I had to hand but I think he fits quite well...the evils of booze and all that

I'll take some photos of the game at Warfare so you can see the whole sst up. I suppose I should post them over on the Cthulhu board as there is a Arkham connection.

Incidentally, if you're going to Warfare (it's well worth it) then please come and  see the game in action and take part. It's the Wessex Wargamers Winchester 'Hillbilly Hell' participation game (we're usually located in the same hall as the competition games).

See you there!

Jim

I'll be seeing you on sunday then!
Its very impressive, I can't wait to see the whole game :)

Thanks guys,

The board was actually built for our 2004 game Terror in Tunguska but was dusted off and re-used this year. It's the combined work of the terrain gurus at our club, Al, Ian and Dickie.

Look out for more pictures of the game in Wargames Illustrated.

Unfortunately, we didn't win the trophy this year but we did get the Bronze Award which was nice. Thanks to everyone who dropped in for a game or who just watched the procedings. It's a great show so everyone went away happy

Next year's game is going definately going to win back the top slot from the 'cowboy posse' (well done BTW)

Think I might have seen the thing, and happily played on the Tunguska game ( was it at Sheffield Triples ?), wish I'd seen the Still layout in the plastic as it were.

I forgot to mention that some of the guys will be taking Hillbilly Hell to Triples in Sheffield so, if you're up North, you can see the game first hand.

Hey Boggler, I never did find the game at Warfare, where abouts were you located?

We were in the corner of the hall where the competition games and demo games were located. We were tucked away a bit so next year we'll probably get a banner or board to make us more visible. Sorry you missed us.

Yep, The Thing was a great game. If anything I think it was the best we've done. Have a look at these pictures:

The conversions were done by Ian, who devised the game and did most of the background rules writing and gamesmastering. He's got some cracking ideas for next year so if you like The Thing you're in for a treat at Warfare 2008.
