Moonshine still
« on: 13 June 2012, 08:46:46 PM »
Last Thusday I received my order of O-scale resin pieces from http://www.rustyrail.com/
One of those just begged to be painted ASAP :

The static grass has just been glued, so the white in between the patches of dry grass should dissapear in a while.
All in all a very fine model. some bubbles (the jar atop the barrel has one on the back) and unfortunatly a broken barrel on the shotgun, although I didn't notice it until I went back to the site to look at some painted examples. Nothin wrong with a sawn-off shotgun hey   ;)
Usable for lots settings, but since one wouldn't want to wake up in a ravaged world without a stiff drink at hand, I posted it here  :D

I have this too, they make some great stuff and I was really happy at the price for the quality.

Nice !

I like the green oxidized copper look.
Thought about it myself.
Is it standard paint or a glaze ?

Thanks.  I bought a bottle of 'patina' colored craft paint.   I thinned it down and applied it in a few places, but then also hit some spots with it at full strength.

You dod a great job on this.  From the jugs to the rocks, the whole thing looks really good.   I like the dead grass around the fire, that was a great idea!

Thanks,

I can only advise you to give in to the urge, these pieces are worth it.
Also, I was very pleasantly surprised by the low P&P : only $12 to Europe  :o
Not much vendors offer such low prices.
the other pieces can be seen in this thread :

Only problem could be the fine casting. some pieces are so fragile they almost break by pointing at them. Then again, they are actualy intended for 'static' use.

I missed that "latest terrain received" post.

Those models really look nice.

It's a shame to hear they are so fragile though.  :(
Either way, lovely work on your end zizi666!
