Looking for painting Supplies
« on: June 07, 2011, 06:13:11 PM »
I used to buy most of my painting supplies locally, as it saves the (rather considerable) shipping costs. However, two days ago I went to the local hobby shop to buy some white gesso primer - my old bottle ran out a month or so ago - and found out that they no longer have it. I'll check again on Thursday, but if they can't even order it, I guess I'll have to buy it online. Also, the local supply of brushes is not very good.

So I'm looking for an online store with reasonable prices which sells white gesso primers, as well as good brushes, and maybe wargame-specific colors. Of course, it should also be able to ship to Israel.

http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/ ship for free worldwide.
I haven't ordered with them personaly, but several  friends have on numerous occasions.
Only 1 friend ever complained as he sent back some wrong or damaged items and never got refunded   :?

You also should be able to buy gesso in any decent art supplies store. It's an extremely basic art supply as it is the single most common canvas primer hands-down.

Update - I've checked again with that local store and they DO have a Gesso primer, they just didn't know it was a primer - but once I called it "Gesso" they knew what to bring me.
