Transportable Dungeon (update11.07.: some game pics)
« on: June 15, 2011, 10:29:26 AM »
I wanted to game a Dungeon Crawl for years, but had never the time etc. o build a proper dungeon. Then last year I started to build some 3D modules, but found out that I can't transport them...

So I started this little side-project.
Its made from 1cm styrofoam and though its not really 3D its at least esayly transpotable.

Building and painting time so far: 6h.

The whole dungeon so far.

The entrance.

And one of the rooms.

And the dungeon in its transport case. Its pretty small because I have to transport all the dungeon furniture etc too.
A little space is left, so I can add 1 or 2 Rooms... :)

Whoa! Very nice :)

I've been trying to find a good solution for making my own dungeon board and this gave me the direction where to go!

Nice solution! Our gaming group are still using a White-board to play our games. Any plans for expanding your idea?

I've been using the Billiam Babble printable tiles (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=3261), printing them onto A4 stickers, sticking them onto thick card stuff I got in huge sheets from my local art shop then cutting them out with a stanley knife. I really like the 'old school' look and board game feel.

Donvoss' tiles are more impressive, though.

Snazzy!  :-*

The dungeon entrance is a particularly nice touch, and brilliantly executed.

Very nice. I'm working on the same thing so it's good to see what others have done.

Thanx for your motivating comments.

I'm glad you like my approach. I 'll be adding some rooms and corridors and perhaps a lava-pit: no dungeon can go without it... :D

@warping
No problems yet. I painted the tiles very thin...

Fantastic! This would be phenominal for Dungeon Bowl, the Bloodbowl spinoff.

They certainly would! If you do use them for that, do consider using our house rule of no corridors narrower that 3 squares - otherwise the bottlenecks become somewhat tedious....

So after a little bit more painting, level 1 is ready (or more precisely  the rooms)...

Hopefully I will dugeoncrawl in a few weeks...

DV... :)
