Usually i wash the figures with detergent to remove grease. Then if the paint is realy thick i remove them from the base and strip them with acetone. ( I didn't have to do that with this batch as the paint wasn't too thick).
Any mould lines are cleaned up with a knife and file. any filling is done at this point with greenstuff. ( both catman and black panthers capes needed filling.)
The figures are then undercoated by brush with a slightly thinned matt black.
Painting then follows the 'foundry-dallimore' style. I paint on the shade colour, then a mid-tone and usually 2 lighter highlight shades. It's quite bright and 'cartoony' and suits supers very well.
Then the figure is sealed with 2 coats of varnish. A humbrol gloss and when this is dry a matt finish with testors dullcote.
