Indian Mutiny Game This Week
« on: June 26, 2011, 02:38:47 PM »
Hi all.
Heres some shots of the setup for my first IM game im going to play solo over the course of this week. First time figures have been on the table together and am really please with how the two forces are starting to look. Cavalry still on painting bench at the moment but should be finished by end of this week. Will post more pics as game develops. Hope you enjoy.
Cheers
Steve

Excellent stuff, and congrats for getting to this stage in such a relatively short space of time.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

Thanks guys.
One of the reasons my projects dont take long to finish is im more of a gamer than a painter. Im not overly keen on painting so I have to get them done as fast as I can before I lose interest and they join the lead mountain. Of course using the dip method speeds things up a lot, but I find I go back and re-highlight the white and then have to matt varnish as well. FYI I use ronseal wood stain as opposed to Army painter. Its water based, dries in 10 mins and only costs £5 a tin.

Try Wilkinson's own brand - even cheaper!

You can afford to buy several tins and experiment.

I use Ronseal Dark Oak. I paint it on rather than actually dip. Wilkinsons cheaper!!!! Must give that a go... more money for lead!! :)

 :-* Lovely set up.

Thanks for the tips on the dips. I've become a fan of that method for painting this summer, but the drying time and cost of Army Painter is a negative.

The game is looking really good now. How are the cavalry progressing?

Thanks for the comments. One unit of muntineer cavalry done, brit cavalry should have been done by now but got sidetracked when I bought some big guns and crew for mutineers off ebay and had to get them painted up for a game last night. Hoping to finish brit cavaly tomorrow. Then I have two units of rabble with muskets to paint. Then I will need to find some command figs/standard bearers for the units and just have to get some elephants too. All in time hopefully for "The Devils Wind"
