Lovely ruin  :)

Thanks, Cap'n!

Great looking building.
Looks alot like my house. lol
Like all the little added detail, makes it really stand out. :-*

Thanks, Marine!
Bit worried about your housekeeping now!  ;)

Mason

Fantastic work again my man! Love it, your usual loving attention to detail. I think this piece is cool to be left as it is, I don't think it needs any more levels. I think it is good to have a range of building heights in Mordheim

Some more of these size buildings would be wicked mate, as the idea of the Pecks Slum halfling quarter is a winner.

Nope, I'd definitely call this piece finished, mate - fine as it is. Can't wait to see what you have lined up next!

Bert

Cheers, mate!
OK. I will leave it for now.
No promises that I dont go back and add the second floor.
And some leaves. It is missing the leaves. (They ARE being added!)

Mason, something needs to be done about your superior elven marksmanship! That's not the reason, though, honest - I'm not getting paranoid about your elves. lol

Oh, YES, you are!  lol
Dont worry too much, mate. Will most likely be using the Kislevites that Pil painted for me next time out.
Not much shooty-pain there!

I'd like to see a halfling brothel  :P

There are some things that you really should keep to yourself, mate!  ;)

Now what you really need is some futuristic buildings, covered in snow, ideal for Dust -they wouldn't fit in at all and you'd be forced to donate them to me! No? Ah well, worth a try...

 :D

 lol lol lol

Well, it may be worth a try.... ;)

 lol lol lol

Thanks for all the comments, chaps.
I will put the first Slum piece aside for a while (apart from the leaves, they are going on) and see how I feel about adding to it later.
I am undecided on that one.

Having come to that (non) decision, I decided to make a start on the Halfling Quarter.
As the plan that I have for this section is quite involved and complicated, I will be making this one level at a time with care being taken to make it fit together as I go.

Made a start on the ground floor level.
The resin building (kindly donated by Legionnaire Bert- Thanks, mate!), has not been stuck to the base yet. It will make life very difficult if I try to paint the thing like that!
I have put it in the picture to give an idea of where I am heading with this.
I decided that the Halfling Quarter needed a 'normal' sized building on the base to show the scale.
(Of course this building has been subdivided internally creating a lot of smaller apartments, to cram as many of the little folk in as possible.)

Anyway, enough waffle, the pictures;

This picture shows where a slice has been cut out of the hill. This is where a bit of internal detailing will be visible after a cave-in has happened.

And finally, a shot with the resin building removed so that you can see what is behind.

I hope to ba able to get a little more done at the weekend.
If I do, I will post the progress.
Until then......

 :o

I assume we will be seeing some cooking pots and cauldron! Perhaps even a little outdoor hobo-ish cooking site.
A dead halfling sticking out of a big crate or barrel might also be pretty cool,.....dark and twisted but cool.

OOOH! NICE START! There's a lot of potential for getting carried away with this Beasty. I hope you have as much fun with it as I anticipate having watching it develop.

Thanks for the comments, chaps! much appreciated.

Ninja; I was making all of my scenery pieces as generic as possible, with no obvious game-specific references. With this, however, it will be, quite obviously, a halfling area, so I will be putting some obvious little folk references on the piece. You can expect some of the things that you have previously mentioned at the very least!

DeafNala; I will have to resist getting too carried away!
It might be fun to go a bit over the top with this piece, though!

This is the base to be building the rest of the buildings on top of.
It looks a little like a porcupine in the pictures with all the cocktail sticks holding the various bits of foam together.
I will finish this level first, before adding more levels as I go.
There is still a lot to do to this part first, before even thinking about adding the next,.....that does not stop me plotting away, though.

I do try to keep up with this project, as I should be moving on to our VSF project by now.
Am going to finish the Halfling Quarter and then the Library and then move on.
Oh...I forgot the other Church Pews, but moving on after that, definitely, I think, hope........

At this rate you are going to finish those Brits before I even get cracking on the Empire of the Sun.... lol

Your Barbarians are welcome any time, mate.
So long as they are house-trained!  ;)

Just a small update, no more work done yet (hopefully at the weekend), but did get some plastic cogs from zizi666, so I will be adding the Clocktower to the 'To-do' list as well.

Will I ever get out of Krappefortt?..............

I am begining to think so too!

Thanks for the compliment!
I am watching your project grow, too, and am taking inspiration from that as well.

I am going to get a bit more done to the Halfling Quarter this weekend.
I will post some pictures when I have done so.

Until then, here are a few better quality pictures of the Slums, now that it is finished;

A few closer in shots, that show the colours better;

And a clearer view of the aga-type stove and its chimney on the other side of the wall;

Legionnaire Bert has convinced me to call this piece finished and move on.
Otherwise I may never finish this project (will I ever?) and be stuck here forever, if I keep adding things to every section that I make.

I can always go back later to add things, should I want to.

Off now, to get some more work done on the houses of the small folk.
Will post progress pictures tomorrow.....

VERY WELL DONE! There are all sorts of little details to notice with each new viewing; that's what makes a successful/completed piece for moi...I really like the second story walkway. One of the enjoyable things about terrain pieces is that they are on-going; you can always find some new little thing to add to a piece.
