Slums look fantastic, very well done. I'd plop it in my village anytime.

Lovely

Thanks, thebinmann!

VERY WELL DONE! There are all sorts of little details to notice with each new viewing; that's what makes a successful/completed piece for moi...I really like the second story walkway. One of the enjoyable things about terrain pieces is that they are on-going; you can always find some new little thing to add to a piece.

Thanks, DeafNala!
My thinking exactly.
I can always go back and make any additions later.
There are quite a few things that need adding to various pieces.

Having taken a look at your gallery on CMON, that is quite a compliment indeed!

Got a little bit of work done on the Halfling Quarter piece yesterday.
Finished off the timbering, carved the cobbles into the foam forming the street and detailed the exposed section with rubble and furniture.
The ground floor level is ready for painting now and has been given a base coat and the first drybrush to pick out detail.
There are various bits to be added to this level but they need to be added after the next level has been fixed in place.

A few pictures of the work completed so far;

A closer look at the timbering

A couple of shots of the ruined section

There are a few areas that need patching up, but that will be taken care of whilst adding the scenic elements.

Hope to get a bit more done later.....

That looks great already: no wonder I'm addicted to this thread!  Once it's done you have to promise to do some aerial shots of Krappefortt, okay?

That really is cool...the residence of the dread Urban Hooligan Hobbits. There's a lot of potential in this sucker. GREAT WORK!

I agree with you that it is the details that make it work.

Thanks, Mr F-F!
We will be having another game of Mordheim soon, so I will take some aerial shots then.
There are now too many pieces to get them all on the board at the same time, but maybe, if there is time, we can set up a couple of different variations.

Brilliant work!  :-*

Thanks, Faber!
I think you will like it more when the other levels are added.
I hope so!
I am really looking forward to getting the ground floor finished, so that I can really get stuck into the upper levels.

The 'Urban Hooligan Hobbits' comment really made me smile!  lol

Mr Mason

You exceed yourself once more sir! Seriously, mate, your scenery making skills are breath taking :-*, and you have made some more beautiful pieces with halfling toon. Hobbiton? Never heard of it, guv...

This is Krappefortt, mate - you want the posh place on the other side of town; 'alflings is dead 'ard in this part of the Empire - none o' yore Tolkienesque, middle class posho psuedo dwarves 'ere! lol

Keep up the good work that man - Krappefortt continues to grow nicely. I cannot think of a better location to take a regular beating and still come out smiling!  :D That is a smile and NOT A grimace...

Roll on December 1st and the festive installment of Blood on the Streets!

Cheers, Bert!
You do make me laugh, you nutter!

Roll on December 1st and the festive installment of Blood on the Streets!

It will hardly be FESTIVE, mate.
I intend running the Halloween scenario that never was....assuming we have enough players.

A small update;
Got some colour put onto the thing over the weekend.
It is a little 'shiny happy hobbit' at the moment but will most definitely NOT remain that way!
(It does not help that these quick pics make it even brighter than it is, but not much!)

Anyway, the Halfling Quarter as it is at the moment.

Now to start 'dirtying' the place up a bit!

At first I didn't overly like the look of the halfling quarter but it has turned out superb.

VERY NICE WORK! It has a warm inviting look that will rapidly deteriorate when the rowdy Little Rogues make themselves at home.

Thanks, Hubbynz, but there is a looooong way to go with this piece.
This is only the ground floor level.
I wanted to build the thing from the ground up, starting with what would have originally been there and adding on the later structures as I go.
Effectively building the Slum as it would have happened, had it been real(!)
I am finishing painting this level before moving upwards as I may well have difficulty getting a brush etc. into all the areas once it is finished.
You can see the large support pilings in the pictures which the next level will be placed on top of.

Thanks, DeafNala, I think you can see where I am going with this.

Thank you very much, jp1885!

As well as adding the higher levels, there is the 'normal' house to be converted into many smaller Halfling apartments and the walkways linking it all together.
And of course the required amount of debris to make it fit in to the rest of the town.
Hoping to get a bit more done at the weekend, but we have a special Halloween-themed scenario that we are playing next week and I need to get a couple of things painted up for that, so progress will not be as quick as I would like.
Will of course be taking some pics of the game and posting them here.
