Awesome Mason!  :-*
that's the way mate. Keep going!

Oh goodness, this is looking really promising  :-*

Thanks Chaps!

Managed to get a little bit done yesterday.
The ground floor level is ready to be put to one side.
I will go back and do a few things to it later.
Time to move on up!

A few pics of its current state;

On to the next level now.
The bases have been cut to shape, now onto adding the houses.
Little ones of course!

It's developing a certain "lived in" look. This is a FINE thread to follow for pure inspiration...there's a bit of potential larceny involved in the "inspiration" for added interest.

I love it, I might add some of the yellow long grass tuffs to break up the green and act as dead weeds to show an even more run down/ un-kept look. This is in the running for your best piece!

Nice piece, coming along very nicely.

Thanks, Hendrid!
I am hoping to get the main part of the second level made up today.

It's developing a certain "lived in" look. This is a FINE thread to follow for pure inspiration...there's a bit of potential larceny involved in the "inspiration" for added interest.

 lol
Thanks, Al!
'Potential larceny'- Is that a reference to 'borrowing' ideas?
No problem, mate, I do it all the time!

Dont worry, I will be going back to add more growth etc.
I just want to get the second level in place before doing any more.
That way I can tell where everything would potentially grow or die off.

Great stuff, lots of character  :-* :-*

Thanks, James!
Ogre Quarter?
Not at the moment.
The only race specific area planned is a Dwarven Quarter, as I already have quite a few items stashed away for that.

That wont be for quite a while yet, as I only intend to finish this section and do the Clocktower before moving on to the VSF stuff that I have been planning for a while.
I have some rather nice Japanese troops that are awaiting reinforcement.
I bought them from a thoroughly nice chap, who is resident on this here forum, a months ago!  ;)
Along with the Japanese, I have British, CSA and FSA forces that are assembled and awiting my attention.

Legionnaire Bert has convinced me to call this piece finished and move on.

A wise man, Bert.

There is a joke I quite like that concerns this.

How many people does it take to create great works of art?

Two, one to create the work, and the second to declare it finished and take it away from the artist before it gets ruined.

So very, very true!

I think that will give Bert a chuckle, Wirelizard.

Looking back, I am more inclined than ever that he, and the wise man who created your joke, is indeed right.
I could have, quite easily, got sidetracked with that section.

I am glad that I have moved on.

I have made a fair bit of progress with the next level, it is almost ready to begin painting.
I will post some pictures tomorrow, when I have finished the construction.

Thing is with that peice, it looked pretty good as it was. I understand that you are the one more involved than anyone else in it as it is you who has been making it, so the temptation to keep tweaking it must be colossal!

Intrigued what you will come up with for your next project in Victorian Science Fiction land...

I love it! I looks great and has all the great touches that make it both distinctly halfling and a slum at the same time, well done! Looking forward to seeing it completed 8)

Thanks, Pil!

Got all the basic building work for the next level done.
I wanted to attempt to build as much as possible out of foam and balsa as a challenge.
I do need to add a few more details, chimneys for a start!
(There would have been a lot of cold Halflings in Krappefortt if I do not correct that!)

Here are a couple of pictures of the progress so far

An overview of the entire piece including the unpainted resin building

A view from the rear, minus resin building

A close up of the exposed sections

Now I just have to get onto painting it!

Great stuff - looks so easy when you post a nice WIP photo like that but I'm sure there's loads of hard work and cursing gone in there!

Epic! I mean come on the speed at which you are getting this done leads me to believe you have an army of terrain slaves toiling night and day to......that is not a bad idea...an army of slaves! I am getting one!!
