I would like to live there  :)

Thanks, Prof!
You may want to change your mind when you see the rest of the pictures, though!

At Last!
The Halfling Quarter is FINALLY finished!

It has been a long time coming, what with taking the best part of a month off and managing to get quite a few games in as the chaps were around and available to get some games in.
That is the point, after all- Gaming on the table!

Here are some pics of the finished article.
I leave this 'open' as a finished piece, though, as I will go back and add little bits to it over time to fill out that 'lived in by the Little Folk' look.

I think that the lower 'Hobbit house' levels give it that distinctive Halfling look, while the 'slums' have just been built on top of the existing houses as space is now at a premium with the expansion of the town.

A few pictures showing the overall appearance of the piece as it is now

Hope you like it!

I will post a couple more pictures tomorrow showing some of the details, including its 'mystery guest'.

Any guesses who/what that might be?

That is BRILLIANT...I LOVE it. Is the little enclosure by any chance a pig sty?

AWESOME!  :-*
amazing work. Finally we see it! ;)
Unique and atmospheric piece, really love it. And I have to quote the wise Deafnala again. You definetly need a pig for the icing of the cake, and I know a minis company that can provide one  ::)

Thanks, Mr Wolf!
Did you mean 'CRACKLING!', by any chance?

Will that do?

Funnily enough, it was the random finding of a plastic toy pig in the gutter by my brother in law that sparked the idea for a pig sty in the first place!

He picked it up on his way to work one morning and gave it to me, saying;
'Is that any use to you? It is about the right size for your toy soldiers isnt it?'

He had a silly grin on his face at the time, and was most surprised when I said;
'Great! I have an idea where that can be used.'

He just rolled his eyes at that statement.
He should know me better by now!

Back later with a couple more close-ups........

While the modeling might be done (for now), the gaming will go on; so there's still more to come...hopefully.

Fantastic work with the half king building. ;D Good attention to detail! My only slight quibble is the ruined edges to the building on the upper levels. Maybe show some exposed brickwork as oppposed to the foamboard edges? It would just finish it off lovely!

Still brilliant work though!!

Awesome work again, my friend! That pig won't last long once the possessed get hold of it - we likes to go to work on a bacon bap!

Superb, mate, possibly rivalling my affections for the undertakers now.

Can't wait to see what you produce for VSF!

And we need to sort out an evening game so that Kitsune can give his Sigmarite killjoys an outing...

Thanks, Andy!

You are spot on with that suggestion.
I was/am not totally happy with that part of the build.
Although these type of walls would have had a 'woven' wood base before the plaster was daubed on, so maybe a few bits of 'wood' sticking out would make it look better. (Easier, too!  ;))
Another thing to add to the list of improvements/alterations to be made over the coming months...

hmm, well, yes, better not, could be dangerous :) nice one, Mason, well done!

Thanks, Prof!
You are right- the Health and Safety department of Krappefortt Kouncil would have a fit if they thought you REALLY wanted to live there!  ::)

I am glad it has 'grown' on you!

Can't wait to see what you produce for VSF!

Thats for another board, but dont worry, you will (probably!) be the first to know!

You bring the pig, I'll bring the flames.

Now thats a worrying proposition!
I do hope that is the first time you have EVER had that thought!

Yup that is stupid good... May I recommend one last thing to add...

Thanks, Ninja!............and NO!
Look at the trouble your last suggestion caused!  ;)

While the modeling might be done (for now), the gaming will go on; so there's still more to come...hopefully.

You are right, DeafNala!
The gaming will go on, so I will (probably) bother you all with more pictures of that........ ::)
