It's a real beauty Mason! I love how you finish off all your terrain pieces with the most intricate details, superb work!  :-*

Well, thats it for the Krappefortt Project for now.
I am off to bother those other chaps on the 'other board that is not allowed to be mentioned!'

I will be back to bother you chaps now and again, with pictures taken during games of Mordheim (which will continue, of course!), and the occasional small update.

I have a few small things that I will be adding to this project over the next year or so, to give me a break from my new project and to 'keep my hand in' with this one, so to speak.

A few things that need doing are The Birdman (MKII), finishing the Fenbeast for the Elves, completing the two half-finished warbands, basing the Beastmen, more church pews and a few small elements that will be added to existing pieces. As well as those, there are a few things that need 'fixing' on existing pieces before I can truly say that I am happy with them.

Once I have completed a couple of forces for 'the other project', I intend to dive back into Krappefortt for a while as there are several more elements that I have the parts for and want to make. The (rather large) entrance to the Temple, a Clocktower and several smaller slum sections built on 'v-shaped' bases to enable me to have more authentic twisting streets in the town.

A HUGE 'Thank You' to everyone who has commented on this thread, especially those who have made helpful suggestions. This is my first scenery project and posting it on here has helped me stay focused (I usually flit around from project to project like a demented butterfly, never finishing anything!).
Your comments and encouragement have helped me immensely, so; Thank You all!

Buggering off to annoy someone else now.

For a while, anyway...............

Forget to mention; If anyone has any suggestions for SMALL projects or scenic items that can be added to the town ,or existing pieces, to provide a little break from the next project should I feel the need.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

A Halfling Highrise!

Have you named it yet - might I suggest Shorty Towers?

Fabulous and characterful work as ever - sorry to see you going over to the dark side - even if only for a while!  :D

As for SMALL projects to lure you back I'd second a pub - The Krapp in Hand?

Smaller still you could go for some stocks, gallows and other public entertainment paraphenalia - unless you;ve already done so and I've not spotted them yet.  :D

Small projects?

- Fountain
- Statue
- Standalone Privy
- Sheds
- A couple of sewer entrances (for objectives/scenarios etc.)
- Debris/ruins
- A cart (smashed or intact)
- Small religious shrine or votive shrine

The little projects don't necessarily have to be buildings. Some roving entrepreneurs or small impromptu businesses might be an interesting diversion. Tom of Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum fame came up with his Wyrd Stone Inventor, as an example:

You will. Probably get on your nerves pretty quickly when I am your noisy neighbour!  ;)

Hmm also not much in the way of breweries or Taverns... I mean a town named Krappefortt would have more then one tavern......... :D

I do have two Inns/Taverns at the moment, the ruined Green Griffon which is also a Brothel, and the em4 Inn, which I have plans to cut up and extend and detail the interior. That is a fairly LARGE project, though, and one for the future.
It is going to be called the Bastard's Inn, the only fully operational Inn in Krappefortt.
It is the home of, and run by, Tom the Bastard, a half Ogre who controls all the Hired Swords in town.
It will be done. Eventually.....

A Halfling Highrise!

Shorty Towers!  lol
Love it!  :-*
Going over to the Dark Side? Not permanently,
I will keep dipping a toe into Krapprfortt, if only to preserve my sanity.
VSF does funny things to your mind, or so I am told!
Gallows?  Yes, I have some. That could be an option. Got some stocks too......hmmmm......
The Krapp in Hand!  lol
Great name, not too sure if I will use it....Oh, go on then, I might just do so.
The sign may prove a little awkward, though......... ;)

Quite a list.
A few are in the pipeline (sewer entrances and Privy), but statues are a must, so thanks for the nudge in that direction.  :)

Phelan obviously agrees..

A good few ideas to get the little grey cells working.
Thanks again, All!

I'm not sure what you mean Mason - I was referring to one of these...  ::)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krap   ;) lol

If you do want to descend into the gutter but don't want too graphic a sign how about a monkey (renowned for doing such vile acts) with an evil expression and one hand behind its back?  ;D

Yes, I am sure that is exactly what you meant, Thatsants!  ::)

Regarding the monkey; That could be a possibility, I am sure I have a plastic GW monkey laying around somewhere...... ;)

Read through this thread again, and it's still mind blowingly good, from start to "finish" (cos it'll never be really finished, will it? ;)).
I don't think it's been mentioned already, but what about a small butchers stall, run by the sinister master butcher Hillary Briss, purveyor of exotic meats and the legendary "special stuff" that is available only to his most select customers.... ;)
