Ooh, this sounds more than nice! Any concept pics, sketches, plans etc of it to show us?

To be perfectly honest, mate, I rarely work like that.

I usually just have an idea in my head, chop a few bits up and go from there.

For the Watch House I will be using the Watchtower left over from the Mansion set (the rest was used on the Chapel on p.60) and building a structure to nestle up against it that has been added on later.
I know roughly what I want to do, but my designs always kind of grow into their final shapes as I make it up along the way.

I have a similar construction method. I figure since I'm the one doing the work, the final outcome should be as big a surprise for moi as it is for everyone else.

I understand perfectly the go with the (one's mind) flow thing, that's how I work as well. Maybe I kind of suspected you Mason to be more presice in your progress, having seen how neatly you have every painted mini organised in displays, terrain boxed up etc ;) :D Okies, just teasing you a bit. I'm sure the tower will be a wonderful sight to see when finished.... so hurry up with it already! :D

I should expect no less!

I am not that organised in my thinking, mate.
If I drew a plan or sketch or whatever, it would be obsolete in five minutes as my mind went off on a tangent and it demanded another alteration etc.
I find it easier to have an idea in mind of the finished piece and work towards there, just seeing what happens as I go.

As for getting started....that begins tomorrow...... with a bit of luck.
 ;)

Well, one day late is not too bad.
I managed to make a start today.

It is only the ground floor and a tedious bit of stonework being scribed into the foam, but I had to start somewhere and will be building this from the bottom up.

I had to stop there as the glue that is holding it all together needs to dry, but I aim to get this lot painted up first and then add the second level, which will be made seperately and added on when it is painted.

Now much progress, but some is better than none!

Cheers, mate, that is very generous of you as it just looks like a lump of foam and a GW tower at the moment.
Just wanted to get the ball rolling is all.

The lower level will be pretty plain in its construction as it is the Witch Hunter Watch House, so I dont think it would have windows on that level.
The next floor will be much bigger and 'jetty' over the front door, with windows etc, so a littel more interesting.

I hope to something a little more exciting for the top floor/roof level.

Well, I wasn't going to say  ;D

How about a round tower opposite and slightly taller then the GW tower to balance it a bit?

cheers

Ooo a new building in development, how exciting!

Does that fit into a PAPPIS box too? ;)

EVEN NOW, at this early stage, the Beasty has TREMENDOUS potential. The Old Lady Burners will love it...you could call it The Bigot Club...or not.

I have plans for round towers soon, but not for this one, mate.

Thanks for the confidence in me, sir.
Much appreciated.

Thanks, mate.
As for fitting in a PAPPIS box: It certainly will, as almost all my scenery does, but this wont be my effort at the [BOX] challenge.
That will come later in the year, when I have the time to do it properly, and will be a self-contained game as the Crazy Viking intended.

Well, seeing as you have already christened the Chapel and that has stuck, I have a feeling that the Bigot Club may well be a feature somewhere/when...

Looking good Mason!

Does this mean a game or two of Mordheim is imminent? ;D

Great start, just bit worried that you don't seem to include the cellar into this build... where are the Witch Hunters going to do all the stuff that Spanish Inquisition did á la Monty Python? ;)
