I have a sanding block from about three years ago that I can't bear to throw away as it's too useful  lol

The uses keep changing however the older it gets  ::)

 lol
That is funny, as that sounds like the history of my brush.
I used to 'paint' with it at one time, believe it or not!

Thanks, chaps!
Your comments are much appreciated coming from such fine brush wielders as yourselves!
 :D

Well, I did a little more earlier and I think that will be that for now.

It may seem that I have gone over the top, but there is the foilage to go on later, which will tone it down a little.

I will move on to the next floor and come back to this part when all the sections are put complete and it needs tying together.

Not just dirty now, but bloody filthy and damp too, I reckon...

Looks superb - wish my weathering attempts looked as good on things!

Dug out the WH gang, roster was somewhere else though. However I also found something else which is looking like a new project for Mordheim..........

As always your work is impeccable. This thread and the comments just made me think of something. In reality, in our large scale world, grit and grime obscure detail, while in the small scale world of our hobby the opposite holds true. As a woman who likes to keep a clean house, this fact befuddled me. I also had a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that rocks had to be painted in order to look like rocks when shot in macro.

Much appreciated.

You have made me think with that comment and you are right.
Mostly.
This rule applies to just about everyone, unless you are a genius!

Take a look at Blackwolf's Loch in the Workbench section and you will see someone who has managed to take a rock (well, loads of them actually) and use it pretty much as it he found it, and you will see that a genius really can make it work.

As for the Watch House: The next level is almost built, just windows to add before texturing.
I will post a piccie or two tomorrow...

:-* Perfectly aged, Mason. I think I saw that in the back streets of Venice when I was there... Lots of damp in the dock/swamp parts of town.

I don't know how blackwolf does it. Perhaps having lots of various shades works for him. I find I'm stuck to a more limited palette as I paint from my few tubs-o-paint. :) the good thing is that every genre/paint job blends together and looks right with the setting.

Cheers
Matt
