Hey Mason! Just wanted to chime in and say that I attempted to recreate the "Krappefortt sandstone" look on a recent terrain piece. I followed your technique by drybrushing from burnt sienna up through yellow ochre and white. It turned out pretty well! Here's a link to the pic (I didn't embed as I don't want to hijack your thread with my pics): http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0sTDpR4veiE/UdxoH_zQMpI/AAAAAAAAD8g/XOHXZLJ324s/w958-h539-no/20130709_132658.jpg

To hell with that 'hijack' talk, it has come out really well, sir.

I far prefer the 'warmth' of sandstone to the 'cold' greys that are more the norm, and this is a great example:

Nice work, Patrick!

I agree - nice warm tones.

They are, indeed.
 :D

Just for you two, I am considering removable options for the roof, with the first one being a tennis court.
 :D

OK, the notion of a tennis court on the roof was just plain silly, so that idea has been dismissed... ::) ::)

I have stuck with the original plan and it is almost done, just a few more details and the final roof needs tiling.
It should all be finished over the weekend if all goes according to plan.

The proof:

Before....

....and After.

It is getting there...

Thank you, and my hat's off to you for mentioning my little terrain piece in your thread headline (threadline?).

OOH! That looks REALLY GOOD! For some reason or other I was expecting a Pigeon Coop; this is MUCH better...cleaner too.

You are welcome, sir.
It deserved it as it has such a smooth transition in the colours.
Nicely done.
 :)

Thank, Al!
It is still a dovecote, so it may still have to be a little 'messy'.
 ;)

I have finished the roof tiles (tedious and fiddly job that it is.
Time to add the details and then slap some paint on it, methinks...

Not tall enough  ;D

It is not some kind of (unfinished) Wizards Tower, ya know?
Although it is destined to be a little bit taller.
 ;D ;D

Super nice work. You're like some manner of crazy terrain ninja.

 lol
Thank you, Mr S!
That did give me a chuckle.

It should all be a little clearer what is happening there once the details are on and it is undercoated.

Oh, and seeing it from the other side would help, too..... ;)

The Dovecote should make spotting the Witch Hunters easier: just keep an eye out for the Guys sporting the Pidgin poop.
