The Bastard's Inn.....The ruins of Krappefortt (MORDHEIM) 28/08
« Reply #1425 on: August 28, 2014, 01:26:39 PM »
I recently finished a building for my Old West project that works equally well in Krappefortt.

Welcome to the Bastard's Inn, seedy dive and number one place to find a Hired Sword of whatever description that you require....

I think it should fit the bill nicely....

Great run down look of that building! I like it´s faded appearance and your introduction is nice to read.

What colors do you use for the faded wood effect Paul? Greys with brown washes?

Fantastic!

Thank you, sir.

No blood.
I just try to make things as compatible with as many genres as possible.

Cheers, Michi.
Much appreciated.

I do indeed.
Steve painted this building originally and it was much 'greener'.
I toned that down to fit in with my other buildings with various thin brown washes and progressively lighter grey drybrushing

Although I have been known to just use the 'dirty' water which I have cleaned my brushes in at times.
It gives a very thin wash and mutes a colour nicely without being too dominant.
 ;)

I like the dirty water idea! Thanks for that I'm doing a few wooden buildings and struggle with the grey fade look at times

You are welcome.
I always use brown instead of black, it is a much warmer colour and much more forgiving.
 ;)

Just do what works for you at the time, mate.
I have lost the urge to paint figures at the moment but buildings are fine so I do them instead.

That is a SPLENDID Tavern with some interesting angles & details...GREAT modeling & painting. It's just generic enough to see uses in some of your other games as well. VERY WELL DONE!
