who makes the naked lady?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Hasslefree, but the original model doesn't have a headgear.

Hope that helps.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

test with some sponge... with leaves it should look ok I reckon...

and the rest:

I wanted something old and gnarly, so made three using some balse for the main trunk, lots and lots of wire (god that took a long time) and tissue paper and pva glue... there is some texture in there, it's just hard to see in the pics... as you can see, they are on CD bases, and I may have gone a bit OTT, but go back a couple of hundred years and you should have had some pretty old and big trees out and about... I hope...

and some Woodland Scenics jobbies for some younger growth, this time on minidisc bases, with the join hidden by the same tissue and pva and to help match them up to the larger ones...

and, for the river section dock, a removable jetty... it slots in perfectly and should give a bit of variety

Ooh I like those! I'm looking to make some trees myself so I'll keep an eye on how these work out (never thought of using sponge...)

it's just to give some body to the foliage, with some leaf flocking it should look like a good thick canopy...

now, odd question - anyone know when pubs started having bars? I'm guessing a period pub would have a more open area with barrels and so on...

Great job, ASG! :-*

I'm unsure about the "pub" thingy. It might be a poorer version of an Inn?

ok... odd question, but am getting close to finishing the trees...

preferences for clump foliage or leaf foliage? I was intending to go with leaf, as i have a load and like the look on smaller bushes... but am also now wondering about clump which I've also got a load of and used on my hedges...

If you're going for a foresty look then you could have clump in the middle trees and leaves on the outside edge trees otherwise just go for leaves in general.

I like the size of them, proper trees  8)

Regarding 'pubs' I don't really know but The Cock in St Albans is a good place to start as apparently Olly Cromwell stayed there himself. True or not I don't know but that's the claim  :)

cheers

James

right, sponge, painted dark green, leaf flock on top - needs some touching up, but on the whole it looks good from a distance, but close up, there are spots that just look too much like sponge... I'd hoped the holes would give a more layered feeling to the foliage, some depth, but not 100% it's worked...

may fill some too spongey bits with clump and reflock... or just go all clump...

But chouldn't you have some more colours in it? It's a bit flat at the moment. Not being rude or anything (well a bit) :)

sigh... have just realised my start on the pub doesn't follow any normal timberframed floor plan... maybe open hall at a push... with an extension*... don't think it's going to bother me that much as I planned it for playabilty and space inside for a good fight, corridors and rooms upstairs to search... and should double as a manor/farm house as well... so timberframed tradition may go out the window here, but then I made the blacksmiths up as well...

*now need to make that look like a later addition

Who cares? Who knows? :)
Sorry ASG, but the first thing I do when I watch a beautiful board is not pointing out that the pub doesn't follow standard build regulations of the period.
