Tobsen has a few nice pulpy pieces.

One of these to race around in - Tobsen's Seagull, my paintjob:

Or perhaps one of these to lurk under the oily water - Tobsen's Globo, my paint again:

(or indeed on a dockside or in a mad inventor's harbourside warehouse, which is why I built the pallet/stand for it!)

There's been some very, very nice harbour scenery projects on LAF, about to shut the computer down for the night here but search for "harbour" (and "harbor" to catch the folks who can't spell properly). Grimm's Lovecraftian harbour comes to mind; there's been a couple of others too.

I have recently been putting together various starter sets, one of the ones I have been asked for is a Dockside set, this should be ready by the end of next week and will of course be cheaper than buying the items seperately.

Dockside to include, stone jetty, wooden catwalk jetties, floating jetties and mooring posts. Plus various dockside scatter items and a new piece which is as yet unrealesed.

I will post when these are ready

Andy

I actually bought your stone harbour and pontoons a week or so ago, but couldn't find the building shown on the end in any of the other sections (sort of run-down ruin). Lovely kits!

For the docks, Lemax makes some really great wooden docks which fit EXACTLY with 28m figs...
http://www.amazon.com/Lemax-14643-Wooden-Docks/dp/B003YTWOJO
I got a ton of these and use them all the time for pulp...

As for 'dock wares', good Crates and barrels are from Pegasus

Also for crates, try War Torn Worlds (cheap but they work well...)

Since I bought the ranges earlier this year I havnt seen a mould for that piece either? there are many gamers out there who have a good knowkedge of the old Ainsty ranges who might shed some light on it?

Glad you like the models though Keith and thanks for your order

Need a lighthouse for your pulpy harbor? Lemax has produced at least a dozen different styles. Some of them have rotating lights! Here is the first of two pages showing a dozen lighthouses:

http://www.lemaxcollection.com/showproducts.aspx?s=lighthouse

Note that there is a search function on the Lemax home website. I suggest typing in wharf, pier, dock, whale, and aquarium to see what comes up. You could make a little tourist town's main street with Lemax.

I'm sure people here on LAF could scratchbuild something like this model of a 1930 motor yacht for well under $250 US, but this model gives a good idea of what a pulp era boat might look like:

http://www.woodenboatstore.com/1930s-Motor-Yacht/productinfo/620-059/

For little wooden runabouts from the 1920's and 1930's, check out this wiki article. There's a couple of good photos there:

My own Pulp harbour set up, featuring Ainsty Casting stone jetty and wooden jetty bits with Old Glory Chicago Gangster buildings in the backround ~

The figures are mostly Pulp Figures by Bob Murch and the vehicles an ecclectic mix of Lledo, Days Gone By, Solido and the like.

Sections for the Stone Jetty are now available seperately so no need to buy the whole set again if you want to extend as shown  by the photos above in the fabulous Pulp Harbour by David.
