I thought I'd get my feet a little wetter here at LAF and do a (very) modest project to paint and post pictures of.

You see, I've recently started running some Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay games for my girlfriend (her first actual interaction with miniatures and RPGs - yeay!) and a couple of friends.

I figured (ahem) I'd get some models for their characters and paint them up.

Since it seems that LAF collectively has great knowledge of miniature producers obscure to me, I thought I'd turn to you all for recommendations for miniatures.

It is standard Warhammer Fantasy, so the setting is pseudo-German in the pseudo-High Middle Ages.

The characters, all human, are as follows:

Waldemar - a woodsman who's just turned twenty.  Armed with a sword and missing both his eyebrows he can be a bit of a smooth talker at times.

Felix - another twenty year old he's a recent deserter from the militia of a lord.  He still has his axe and leather jerkin from his previous employment.

Alexa - a hunter in her early thirties, she is quite tall (6'1").  Less of a sylvan nymnph and more of a pragmatic survivor in the woods, she's an excellent shot with her bow.

Rudiger - the largest and oldest member of the party, at 6'4", 200 lbs and 35 years of age he is, incongruously an excellent thief, adept and sneaking quitely and hiding his large frame unseen.

I'm honestly not too fussed about details, but am rather hoping to get some nice flavourful and nice looking models which are reasonable approximations.

So yeah... if anyone has any recommendations or suggestions, I'd be much obliged.  I'll post the results here once have any.

I'd say browse the Reaper Range of Miniatures.
If you come for the king, you better not miss (Omar)

In Canada, but I'm perfectly willing to order minis from across the globe if they're nice.

Have you tried looking through the various historical miniature makers for suitable figures? After all, once you slightly ignore more specialised characters (such as Witchhunters and what not) or the slight skull-gothic look of warhammer, then there's loads of manufacturers to choose from.

Brilliant suggestions Hammershield.  I'm going to have a look at those.  That's exactly the kind of suggestions I were looking for :)

I have a few old mithril miniatures around which I quite liked.

I've always ben particularely fond of that M325 with the kick-in-the-gonads pose. It is quite unusal and takes a man with experince to sculpt.

They are all OOP but can often be found on ebay. If not, shoot me a PK and I'll mount an expedition into the Caves of Lost Lead.

Reaper has a "Figure Finder" on their site.  Enter search tags, say "Human Male axe leather", and it shows you what's avaliable.

I found This one for Alexa.

Maybe This guy for Felix.

And either This guy or This guy for Rudiger.

Waldemar is a guy with a sword, so that's a bit more generic and would really need to go with more of what you have envisioned I guess.

Also, good job on getting the GF interested!  Having my Wife join in our games is one of the best things I ever did.

Kind of you to offer sir.  At present I'll continue my search (and carefully consider any of the denizens of my own Unpainted Mountain).

I'd actually been browsing the site a bit for a while, and the figure you suggest for Alexa was one of the ones I considered as well :)
