Just finished painting up Heresy's 'Flesh Golem' the other day and thought I might share him/it with you.  Lovely miniature and a breeze to paint.  More photos and waffle on my blog.

Lovely paintjob on the golem but the base said "cookie" to me when i first saw it. Still does to be honest. What effect were you after with it?

It's supposed to be a cobbled surface made from pebbles (they were quite popular as surfacing in my part of Devon way back when.  Lympstone has a few surviving examples in back alleys, if I recall correctly.  There be plenty examples here), but I agree with you that the end result is a little strange.  I was a little too skimpy with the 'cobbles' - they should definitely be denser - and I also realised I had done my previous cobbled basing wrong: the pebbles are supposed to be darker than the medium they are set into; an effect I've tried to emulate.  I just hope that none of my gaming chums think it's a cookie too and try to eat the bugger mid-game!

Frankenstein looks awesome, but I'm afraid the base does not suit the model at all and is very distracting. I know what sort of road you mean, but I think it would sell that idea better if the stones were grey.

VERY NICELY DONE! I've been trying to come up with colors for that mini for a while...thanks for the ideas.
On the base: if you added some "grass" growing through the cracks. it might give the cobbles more definition.

Very nice, but the base looks a bit unfinished compared to the figure.
