Wooden barrels and crates for scenario...
« on: July 19, 2011, 01:41:08 PM »
Hi!
I've been searching for some cheap plastic "wooden barrels" and "wooden crates", for scenario.

Aside from some GW sprues that have barrels, so far I've found:
-Barrels from Renedra Wargames, 10 for £3 (5 small and 5 big) (http://renedra.co.uk/webstore.html#)
-Barrels from Wargames Workshop £6.99 (http://www.wargamesworkshop.co.uk/ProductList.aspx?CatID=1&DivID=1&GrpID=53&PrdID=589&
AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1)
-Buckets and Barrels from Antenocitis Workshop £4 (http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/buckets-and-barrels.html)
-Wooden Crates from Wargames Workshop £7.99 (http://www.wargamesworkshop.co.uk/ProductList.aspx?CatID=1&DivID=1&GrpID=53&PrdID=590)

Any one has other suggestions?
Thanks
A.

I get mine in packs from this store.  Compared to 28mm size minis they make great kegs or barrels for old west and gangster style settings.

I'll try to take some pics when I get home.

Try Hovels Miniatures or Ainsty Castings or Antenocitis Workshop. They all have good selection, but resin not plastic.

Barrels and crates are awesome. I always add some to any order if there are any available in the store.

I was also impressed by this list: http://www.fysh.org/~katie/wargames/data/barrels.html
If it doesn't do the trick, I can try to check my collection for any missed sources. They're practically all resin or metal, though.

Acheson Creations has all kinds of nice ones....

Check under their "Accessories" label, in a number of scales.  If you find them at a show, they usually have them in a tub for 50 cents each.

Considering how useful barrels and crates are for different settings it's well worth investing in mold #85 from Hirst Arts
