I think, when I last checked, that the sentiment among the moderators is that once a year is enough and a year between is enough. It is Alex' call though.

Yeah, I've got far too much on and since I never finish them anyway I'd be no good  lol

It is really really really tempting though...

 lol

Is there some other form of contest that could take place? Photography perhaps? Something "lighter" but still an opportunity to show off our wonderfully talented colleagues... maybe a fiction writing contest, I don't know :)

Certainly. I was only talking about the Potatoe Cup (the Build Something contest).

What ever your idea is, pitch it to the Prof (and perhaps the relevant moderator). I suggest you keep it wargames related, like miniature photography or scenario fluff writing rather than general photography or fiction writing.

Why not something like a "miniature most out of context" contest?

Examples could include:

An Elder God on a sit on lawnmower.
A GW Space Marine in a pinny with a feather duster.
A Werewolf serving afternoon tea.
Starship Trooper bug on a typewriter.

Sounds like a winner to me.

No thanks. The original idea behind these competitions was to get something usable for the table top. I would rather do that.

Aha, I didn't know about that caveat, but it is entirely understandable.

Nevermind, it was just a fun idea.  :D

Which reminds me.. That Wizards tower/space elevator, how's that going? Forget the comp, there are ordinary folk out there who are going to be really cross if their dream of affordable space travel isn't realised soon. Only another 18 foot to go you say?

Ah, yes, the Tower...

I do keep meaning to finish that but I honestly haven't had any ideas for how to finish the top  :?  :? :? >:(

Right then, I'll get it out (oo-er) over the holidays and have another look  ;)

cheers
