Apple stems for bone clubs

So I'm eating an apple while working on some 28mm naked german tribesmen and a thought hits Me this apple stem looks similar to a large animal bone so I trim it down a bit and glue it in a hand and paint is off white.
I wonder how long it will last.

Perhaps when the green furry stuff appears on it you can pretend its moss?
