Two waggons for the baggage train

Although I really should work on my Vauban Fort (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=25214.0) to finish that thing, we needed some waggons for our next large upcoming game. I had two very nice waggon kits in my lead pile I wanted to build for some time now, so the opportunity was there. The two waggons should be as period-neutral as possible, so no driver figures at all. They are shown here at the Swashbuckling board, but can be used for several historic periods, from the late medieval through Renaissance and Thirty Years War up to napoleonics and even 19th century conflicts. Those things didn't change much through the centuries:



I used (smaller) Foundry horses for the large waggon to give the impression of one of those huge baggage carts often seen in contemporary pictures and drawings. The other one has horses from Front Rank miniatures. The only thing I added to the large cart is the front seat I had in my spares. The marauding troops had plundered a church and mounted this church bench to their vehicle. Very useful to hack it down for fire logs later in those hard times ...

Absolutely fantastic...I really like the extra details such as the rope on the hitches and tie downs on the baggage.  Could they be used for Roman baggage as well??

Marvellous pieces. I really want to start a small Bruegelburg project with a "Flesh and Blood" theme when I get back to Germany, and those wagons just moved up quite high on the list.
