Aztecs vs. Conquistadores
« on: August 27, 2011, 08:25:28 PM »
For a small partizipation game in teh end of september I will build up a few aztecs and spaniards over the next few weeks.

Here is what I builded up so far...

First my eagle warriors.

A few novice warriors...

and at last my jaquar warriors (complicated patter like splintertarn... :o  at least to me)...

In the background you can see my the first houses I made...

The game will focus on a small siege like Tenochtitlan, but on a very small gaming-board, due to space-limitation on the convention...

Next on the painting table are a few conquistadores... :)

Looking pretty good.

Waiting to see yet more, please.

Buildings are scratch-built?

Can you share with us how did you make them?

Thanks.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Great work there.

I find miniature Aztec's tend to look comical because of the body suits, but you've made these ones look realistic!

I have stayed away from painting Aztecs. Too much detail to paint. I prefer half naked figures to paint.  :o Very fine painting on the figures.

Thanx for your encouriging comments.

I was busy over the weekend rebasing my old spaniards, ex LoTHS-Gang plus a few Conquistadores for T&T-Blackpowder.
They were my first "historical" miniatures, so there are quite a few very big GW-weapons...

An inpired by Captain Blood I took the oportunity to photograph a few of my old ships.

The two smaller ships are from the famous pressman-set: weapons and warriors.

I just lengthend them a bit... ;)
The bigger one is scrtachbuild, with lots of stuff from the hobby-store (cannons etc.).

The main gang are GW-miniatures from Pirazzos legion, very cool miniatures...
They have mixed weapons for the Legends-rules-system.

And some Foundry-minitures for more firepower... :D

At last a few ship-details...

I never really fifnished the big ship. Still quite a lot of work to do... :(

Cheers,
DV

Cool looking ships. I like the painting on them. Do you have a battle in mind to fight?

Slow progress for the aztecs, because I was busy elsewhere in the leadpile... :D
Today some fanatics. I intended to buy Montezuma and his retinue, but found these guys in the blister instead.

Two leaders and a temple-guy.

One of the missing leopard-warriors and some cruel temple-guy again...

It will be a kind of tenochtitlan-siege, but much smaller then usually seen.
