I want one, fuck reason  lol

It's gorgeous, reminds me of the Airfix one Daddy made when I was little.

My Grandad used to paint the real ones back then, sure beat fighting in the trenches I bet  ;)

The Army used about 900 buses in France during the early part of the war, as troop carriers, mobile pigeon lofts, gun platforms, etc.  There were 34 of them at Arras alone so I don't see why folks can't see a use for them.  They're no different than GS trucks or wagons, other than possibly being a lot more colourful.  They're simply big taxis.  They were originally left in their working liveries but later received some 'armour' as shown and a coat of khaki.  The survivors were sent back to England and returned to work on their routes.

Old Bill was one of the original war buses and is still preserved at the IWM.  It was even used as a hearse for old soldiers after the war.

I like the mobile pigeon loft idea.

I found this on flickr, camo pattern and all.

Just discovered that the buses served throughout the war and were also used in repatriating the troops at its end.

While we're at it, anybody know of a model of the Marne taxis in 28mm? I know Pyro did a Renault Town Car in 1/32 that was suitable for conversion.

Don't know of one offhand, but if 1st Corps are expanding their range why not write and suggest it to them. They are generally quite friendly chaps.
