Dijit's Fantasy Project
« on: 23 September 2011, 03:45:21 PM »
Well every project starts with a pile of lead, and for my next project heres mine:

And a few close ups:

In the collection there's some of my first ever models that have been stripped and some nrew additions, it also includes Citadel (early), Marauder, Grenadier, Reaper, and Celtos. I'm intending to use Dave King's Skulldred with them.

And last but not least, can anyone identify this little guy? I love him and have no idea where he's from:

I'm thinking about starting up a small fantasy side-project/distraction so I'll be watching this one with great anticipation. It looks like you have a nice mix of  minis to get you going too.

OH BABY! There's all sorts of coolness in that mix. I wish I could help you with the I.D., but that's one mini I don't recall...I'd love to have one, but I don't recall seeing it before. ENJOY ALL THE PAINTING...it will be a treat following your progress.

Lol, good luck for all this work! =)
the minis look really nice assorted, but i suggest you to remove all the slottabases from the minis!

I know it is quite a long work, but believe me, it will give much more uniformity to the warbands, which is a fundamental part of a project!!

Thanks guys, looking forwards to getting started painting these too. Just need a good background story for it.

I'm sticking with all slottas for this project. Not because I prefer them - I don't, but because everyone else I know uses them and most of my other stuff is based on them, so if I'm going to get anyone else to play then I prefer the aesthetics of all models based the same way.

Quite a mix you've got there, looks like it's going to be pretty neat when all is said and done!  Any hints on what the project will actually be?

Cool stuff there, Dijit! You need to get that poor old Prince August knight a sword and a shield, though! =)

Why? He's a ninja knight ;D

(seriously though I have them, but considering giving him some different ones instead)

The little goblin rider was from Harlequin miniatures. There is also one with a lance too.Nice little sculpts.

Good start for a force.Very mixed races in it too.

I'm impressed! I had the whole set of that knight character, and he lacked all his weapons for each pose when I sold him. It's a nice fig, I like the Prince August character minis from that period. We used them for our RPG characters as they had all kinds of poses (fighting, sleeping, posing, some mounted too).

Thanks that's great to know. Now I just have to find out if I can some more. Not got much done recently as I've been away, but hopefully will have got further next week.

Well, I've got the first seven done in the last week or so. These are all from the Celtos range that I picked up at a closing down sale. I've painted them up to go together and there's human and dwarf heroes along with a horseman on the way to accompany them:

I can sure feel I've not really painted much in the last year, my brush work feels clumsy and feels like it's taken me forever to get these guys (and gal) done.
Oh and this is part of the woodland board (I'll post better photos later)

I'm happy to say that I was right...following your progress is a treat. The Celtos Lads painted up WONDERFULLY! The woodland setting adds to the flavor.
