Hi, I wanted to say hello.  I've been trying to get back into miniatures for years (well decades) and am taking the plunge again - plastic 1:72 at this time but that will change, I'm sure.  This is a terrific, informative and fun forum (I should have had a third "f" sound word in that!), and I'm glad to be a member.

Thanks everyone! Yes Friendly certainly needs to be in my list.

Michael - I'm interested in playing - unfortunately I have a lot of interests and a lot of rules - and limited cash which is why plastic, for now, is very appealing.  I've got most of the Two Hour Wargames rules, a huge amount of Too Fat Lardies, as well as miscellaneous ones I've picked up from I don't know where.  Periods I'm interested in are Old West, WWI, WWII, Colonial (both North America and the 19th Century Asia/Africa), Pulps and Cthuhlu.  Oh yes, and Korea and Vietnam.  Since getting some figures I've played one THW Vietnam game (the introductory scenario) and am dying for more.
Oh yes, and Modern - picked up Force on Force recently too.

So many rules, so little time!  I know the feeling.  I am lucky in that I have a weekly D&D game with good friends, and we use a fair amount of miniatures for it.  We sneak in Mordheim and (more rarely) Warhammer, but anything else is pretty much only at Cons. 

I quite like 28mm plastics - they tend to be reasonably priced and I enjoy working with them.  Haven't done anything with 1/72 in a long time, although there are a lot of nice figures out there in that scale.
