Looking for some recommendations for good trade paper back comic collections.  I would like some Superman if possible and anything else super hero related in the DC universe except Batman... I already have a ton of Batman books.  I have alot of material from the Marvel Ultimate universe also.

What are some of your favorites? :D

Not much into the superstuff, but for DC I can recommend:

Classic Green Lantern: The Road Back, Ganthet's Tale, Emerald Dawn (original)

Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters

Superman: ...For All Seasons

All very good, especially the last one. The Green Lantern stuff is ocasionaly ludicrous in the best tradition of the Batman TV series, but all good fun.

Ok, not so much a superhero series, but a cool cool read:

Showcase presents Jonah Hex is 528 pages of classic western. Highly recommended!

DC's Identity Crisis is really good, and Manhunter is also worth picking up (written for a bit more grown up audience). The first three Outsiders -TPs are also worth picking up.

It's been a long time since I looked at my Batman trades, probably longer since I read most of them.  The the ones that stick out the most are Arkham Asylum, Night Cries, and Killing Joke.  Grant Morrison's current run on Batman is pretty good too.  He did one issue that was pretty interesting about the evolution of the Joker that was all words and very few pictures.  Worth a look, although I have no idea how that would get traded up.

Have to agree - "Killing Joke" and "Dark Knight Returns" have to be the best Batman I've ever read.
Enjoying the game is ALWAYS more important than winning the game.

I agree majorsmith... Lone Wolf and Cub is fantastic!  I have the full run they did in comic book form long ago... but they never finished and then I purchased all the manga books that Dark Horse released.  These are a must have for anyone interested in the Fuedal Japan Era (post gunpower).
Have you read the new series from Darkhorse done by the same people?
It is called Samurai Executioner... it was a series done before Lone Wolf and Cub hence the main character is/was the Shogun's Executioner but is not the same character in LWAC.  It was released also by Dark Horse after they finished the LWAC series... not sure where it is at the moment however.  I only have the first couple of books... same size and format as LWAC.

Earth X
Sin City (Sin City & That Yellow Bastard)
Current Punisher by Ennis
Current Cap by Brubaker

But that is my opinion

All of Brubaker's stuff is good right now.  Well, I don't know about X-Men since I don't read it.  But Captain America, Daredevil, and Iron Fist are the best books out there by Marvel right now I believe.  The first trade for Iron Fist is out and I highly recommend picking it up.
