Not sure if anyone is interested in this sort of thing but I've just seen an article announcing an online exhibition of an album of sketches collected by one Captain James Wallis (46th Regiment) of colonial Australia and India. Wallace "served as commandant of the Newcastle penal settlement between June 1816 and December 1818" (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-10-17/paintings-nsw-state-library/3574820) and was posted with the 46th Regiment to India (1821-26) after his return to England.

Album can be found here http://issuu.com/linkad/docs/gardner_james_wallis/27

Mostly landscapes - but worth a look if you are into the period.

Cheers

Alan
