A quick Texas Revolution skirmish
« on: 23 October 2011, 12:40:26 PM »
A couple of photos of a hastily put together Texas Revolution skirmish game played over a couple of hours one evening last week.
We tried out Sharp Practice again after our earlier unsatisfactory attempts to learn the rules. This time the rules seemed to work a lot better and made much more sense. Perhaps it was due to us only fielding three units per side to really try and understand the rules mechanics. Will definitely be giving them another try soon. :)

The scenario involved two scouting parties stumbling upon each other in a small village.

Actually for virgin troops they did well and held their own.
They had an impressive fire fight with some elite Cazadores and saw them off :)

Nice looking game, I am working on a similar idea with the huge numbers of ACW I have.  :D

Great looking game.
Sometimes small games are alot more fun,
than the large games many of us try to play.
There is plenty of eye candy to see and enjoy,
with your game.
Thanks for sharing.

Never cease to be inspired by your games Nick. On the money again. Did you use Sharpe Practice or So Far From God, the variation written specifically for the US Mexican War?

The basic Sharp Practice set.  I find the rules quite confusing, so trying to get a firm grip on them before experimenting further,
