My Tomorrows War Project
« on: October 25, 2011, 01:10:06 PM »
Right, i got the Rulebook, now i need Platoons  :D The Plan actually is not to buy any new Stuff (except for the Defiance Plastic Marines  ;))im trying to form a Platoon from the Stuff i allready have on my Leadpile. Therefore i painted some Testpieces...

Left to Right: No 1+2 are CSO Troopers from Rezolution (Aberrant Games).Very near Future like and since i have 16 of these Guys they would make a nice USMC/Elite Force. No 3-5 are all VOR Minis: Union Power Armour Trooper,Union Special Forces,Neosoviet Power Armour. They would fit well with the Rezolution Minis and i have enough Troops to form a Hardsuit Section (4-16 Soldiers depending on the Scenario)

For the Opposite Forces im probably going to use old Void Minis,i have Buckloads of them and since i need at least 35+ Men for a Platoon these Guys are my prefered Option so far:

Syntha Prosthene Marines-maybe a bit too Sci-fi but i have more than 50 of these Guys allready painted so...

another Option:Viridian Marines,a bit too Cartoony for TW but nice Standard Troops?Brazil Forces perhaps?

Go with the syntha mate, but just the ones with helmets, maybe add a few clone trooper inspired helmet mods or colour slashes, dirty them down a bit and they'll be perfect. Add a few Pig iron droids and you'll be laughing.

Good pj's by the way! ;)

well, the thing i like most from that kind of project is the work of patchwork, joining together loads of different sets, giving them an uniform look.... GREAT JOB! i totally envy you.

In attack of the clones rank but by revenge of the sith armies generally:

Ranks:

Originally clone troopers were identified in rank by the color of their armor, as in this chart below. However, by Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith, colors became associated with a trooper's legion affiliation.

Rank:

No Armor — Clone Cadet
White — Clone Private (standard trooper)
Green — Clone Sergeant, commanded squads made up of 9 troops.
Blue — Clone Lieutenant, commanded platoons made up of 4 squads (36 troops)
Red — Clone Captain, commanded Companies made up of four platoons (144 troops).
Yellow/Orange — Clone Commander, commanded regiments made up of four battalions (2,304 troops). Many of these commanders were grown with more capacity for independent thought than their troops, and were sometimes known by names rather than numbers. They also received training from the ARC trooper Alpha-17.

Legions (well a few):

327th (yellow markings) on felucia with Aalya Secura (killed her)
501st (Vaders fist) Blue markers (attacked the jedi temple)
187th purple markings under Mace Windu.
7th Sky Corps orange markings (Commander Cody, Obi-Wan's army).

The Shock Troopers have red markings, these were the guys which were in Mustafar along the Emperor.

Hei Daniel,
Defiance, heh.
I'm waiting for their "Bundeswehr" minis :D

Nice choice of minis, and really nice painting.
Keep them coming

All your troops look great. Those Syntha Marines with the helmets are great! I had never seen those Prosthene marines with helmets. They look very good-very "hard" sci fi to me.
