IABSM is a fantastic rule set, especially if you enjoy scenario-driven company-level clashes with a heavy dose of fog of war.   8)

My armies are also generally based for FoW (which they've never played in). I don't have any trouble using them for IABSM

Thanks for the positive comments chaps, I am really glad you're enjoying the rules.

You might be interested to know about a few updates I've put on Lard Island News.  We had a great formal unveiling of the rules at Crisis in Antwerp where the rules picked up their first award for the best participation game.  Thanks to everyone who attended, we were packed out all day and had a fantastic time.

We have had a lot of interest from people asking how the new command and control rules work in the rules.  They really are at the very heart of the game and the way that it plays, so we've written a guide for newcomers to the rules to explain exactly how they operate.  You can read all about that here:  http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=672

You can download some nice new Blinds for IABSM for either A4 or Letter size paper here:  http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=648

Thirdly, we have put a piece up on using the older supplements with the new rules.  This simple two page guide allows you to just "plug-in and play", you can find that here:  http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=668

There is a piece about the demise of Battlegames magazine which, though potentially superceded by events, is I think still worth a read.  That's here:  http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=655

And finally why not read about the Lardy pilgrimage to Antwerp and what we believe to be the best wargames show in the world, Crisis.  http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=658

So, lots to see and read.  Rather than clicking through all of the links you could simply go to Lard Island News main site and scroll through these and other pieces.  Check that out here:  http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/

I hope some of this proves helpful to lardies old and new.

Hello chaps. Just wondering if these rules support any theatre of World War 2 or if it's aimed squarely at Normandy? I ask because I have some Flames of War Eastern Front stuff and would like to continue with them using these fine rules.

Good to hear a new version of IABSM is out, Rich. I enjoyed the first edition very much, so this should be good. What about TW&T, is there a new edition in the works for it as well? And how well would the new card set for IABSM work with TW&T? I forget what the differences were apart from scale of troops...

The rules are good for any theatre. There are theatre specific supplements that give further info about the forces involved in those theatres.
