Wanted: 15mm street furniture
« on: November 06, 2011, 11:47:20 PM »
I am builing a small board for my 15mm Zombie apoc game, and I have all but finished the buildings, but now I think that the board looks a bit bland. What it needs is a few bits and bobs of street furniture to give a bit of feel.

The theme of the board is a run down inner-city USA. I am after some trash cans, dumpsters, phone boothes, benches, street lamps, signs, cars and so on.

Has anyone got any ideas? It's 15-20mm scale (Rebel Miniatures are creeping up two 18mm scale)
Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

isn't that around 1/87 or HO ?
I'd look for model railroad supplies.

You'd need to look for closer to 1:100...

If they are creeping up into the 18mm range, the 1/72 scale is perfect. There is all kinds of stuff availlable. Look at military model kits, diarama accessories, etc. HO/OO scale model buildings.

Khurasan do some 15mm dumpsters which are really nice. I've got a couple but haven't painted them up yet. I know hornby do some skips and recycling bins and stuff. Best check those out they could be a little big. I painted up some hornby bins for 15mm sci-fi look nice but out of scale really. http://starportcrash.blogspot.com/2011/08/industrial-bins.html

you can take a look to this site:

http://stores.ebay.it/everestmodel/_i.html?_fsub=791177014

I've bought from them, the quality is acceptable, and with the bids you can have stuff at a really decent price!

(and there are several shops selling the same things at different prices, apparently... just look around the Bay to find the cheaper! =) )

I used a lot of HO scale stuff for my 15mm gaming.  You can get it at nice prices and it fits in fine.

Here are a few examples...

HO tires and junk:

HO Barriers:

HO Dumpsters:

This shows HO dumpsters, shipping containers, lumber piles, cars....
