Hello from New England
« on: November 27, 2011, 03:38:47 PM »
Hello Everyone!

I came across this site from bouncing around the search engines, and stooped when I when I saw an intriguing looking forum that ended up having great content in it's boards. I look forward to searching more of the threads and adding whatever I can to the community.

I've been a wargamer for a little over three decades, but have played games all my life. In the past decade, I develped an interest in miniature wargaming. I had always been fascinated with metal miniatures....but I must admit I stared with plastic Axis & Allies Miniatures; which then progressed to Flames of War, and the Old Glory Command decision miniatures. As you can tell by that last line, I am primarily interested in WWII wargaming, but I am not exclusive to it alone.....I have two miniatures games under design for:

The Battlestar Galactica universe, which takes place right before "The Fall" (the TV Shows, which depict the Cylon attack sending the rag-tag fleet into space). I have a fairly large force of both Colonial and Cylon ships in pewter and resin, which play on a homemade gameboard with a hexogonal grid.

The Stargate SG-1 universe with primarily pewter miniatures depicting SG-1, several SG teams, Jaffa warriors, System Lords, villagers, etc. I have a Stargate and DHD, and the game is played on a diorama.

I started my own wargaming forum last March and have had a lot of fun with that; am a moderator at another gaming forum, ad a Super Moderator at a WWII forum where I developed and built a wargaming sub-forum.

I look forward to meeting members here and making new friends!

Welcome Whiterook  :)

Sounds like you've got a lot of established interest in 20th century/modern and future subjects, but wander about the boards as much as you can, there's loads of fascinating stuff that comes up on here, and some great people  8)

Cheers,

Lance

Welcome to LAF. There are a lot of other areas to collect, paint and game that are well represented on this forum.  Far too many choices for the good of your wallet.  :D

Wander through the The Lead Painters League boards for some great examples of a wide range of subjects.
