I don't think you're neighbors would want us bringing Kmarts in, even if we could what with the blue light specials and all.

If you're talking about the horses and wagon I'll see if my Kmart has any when I go Christmas shopping tonight. If they have two I'll even pick the extra one up.

Identifying the packaging would be the most helpful.

We've got a few Kmart like stores that will probably stock similar items.

Grubman,

I need images, names, and links to the set of horses and this carriage!

(or pm if willing to pick me up a set)

Doh, I'm probably not going to be much help as I've already thrown out the packaging.

WHAT?! :o

Go dig that packaging out of the trash, sir!

Well, it's been gone for days.  When I got the stuff I simply dumped it out, picked out the good bits, and threw the rest away.

I kept the cowboys to give to a friends kid, but when I went to check, I had ripped off the cardbaoard part on top to open it and threw it away, just keeping the plastic.

Sorry.  Next time I'm at Kmart I'll check if the packaging has anyname or website on it.  If it seems like a real obscure item I'll pick up any extras they might have and distribute them.

Thank you...but I can't take much credit on the cowtown building...the models are actually very good and easy to paint.

Is the building based on thin board or foamcore?

I'll be getting my first set of buildings soon, and curious as to what I should base it on top of.

JH, I checked my local KMart and no luck.

Walmat does carry a buckboard in the Grandchampion line that will work for $3 or so.

Cory, thanks for looking out.

There's a few dollar type stores on the way home. Grubs seems to have had a lot of luck there.

On another thread there are the Lemax Christmas stuff which looks OK and cheap as chips in the US perhaps some of those carraiges etc would work too.

The Cow Town stuff looks pretty carn good :)

Since I started painting the Ertl Cow Town buildings, I'm really liking the way they look.

However, they are just so much larger than the little foamboard ones I made that they just don't look good together.  Not only that, but the detailed plastic painted ones look so much more 3-D than the foamboard/printed ones that I just don't feel good about it.

So...having a little more time before I play (with the holidays and all)  I decided to take a little time and try to put together a scratch built house or two to go along with the Cow Town ones to flesh out Davestown before my first game.

I started last night, and it's about half finished (building).  I think it’s coming along nicely…but once it’s done and painted will be the real test.

I thought this was going to be awful expensive, but, my additional costs amounted to $2!  For the base structure I’m using the Saloon foamboard house I already built (one of the larger buildings).  For material I’m using a few of the hobby sticks I already have, a pack of popsicle sticks from the dollar store (200 sticks for $1!), and for a door, a cabinet door from a piece of dollhouse furniture I also found at the dollar store.

Wish I could post a picture…but I killed my camera battery (just in time for Christmas).  I’ll post one as soon as I can. :)
